Images of frightened children being scanned for radiation, stunned families walking through demolished villages, rescue workers aiding senior citizens, stoic crowds waiting peacefully and patiently for hours waiting for trains to take them too safer ground…These are images that caught our attention in the media after the tragic March earthquake and tsunami in Japan.

Despite the fact that the media attention has declined, the updates have ceased and we aren’t being shown these images every day, the Japanese people are still in critical need our help.

The Japanese American Association of America (JAANY) feels devastated by the destruction brought by the effects of the March tsunami and earthquake in Japan and is committed to providing aid and support to the Japanese people who need it most.
